A little preparation helps your appointment go smoothly. Here's what to know before we meet.
Identification
Bring acceptable, current identification for every signer. If you're unsure whether your ID will be accepted, contact us before your appointment.
Don't Sign in Advance
If a document requires notarization, do not sign it before your appointment unless you have already been advised otherwise. Many notarial acts require the signer to sign in the notary's presence.
Your Document
You are responsible for bringing the correct, complete document for your needs. LLBK Legacy does not draft, select, or interpret documents on your behalf. If you are unsure which document or notarial act you need, consider checking with the receiving party or an attorney beforehand.
Signer Presence
Depending on the notarial act, all signers may need to be present, in person or via compliant remote technology, for the entire notarization.
Witnesses
Some documents require one or more witnesses in addition to the notary. Please check your document or with the receiving party to confirm whether witnesses are required, and arrange for them in advance if so.
Remote Online Notarization (RON)
If your appointment is a remote online notarization, you will need a stable internet connection, a compatible device with camera and microphone, and valid identification for the identity-verification process. We'll confirm specific technology requirements with you before your session.
Third-Party Acceptance
Notarization does not guarantee that your document will be accepted by the receiving party, such as a county clerk, court, lender, title company, government office, or foreign authority. Please confirm any specific formatting or content requirements with the receiving party in advance.
No Legal Advice
LLBK Legacy is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. We can help you complete the notarial process, but questions about the legal effect of a document should be directed to an attorney or the receiving party.
Completion Is Not Guaranteed
An appointment does not guarantee that a notarization or related service can be completed. Completion depends on identification, document, signer, technological, and legal requirements being met at the time of the appointment.
